you hold it in your body.

Your life is sacred.

Transformational Somatic work for soulful beings who are ready to move beyond suffering.

Your grief is sacred.

you hold it in your body.

whether you lost your person years ago, or your grief is fresh, you're in the right place.

Embodied Grief Support for whole person transformation. Programs and events for grievers. Courses and consults for therapists.

Wherever you are in your life journey, I want you to know that no matter what has happened to you up to this point, your body is your most primary, vital and intelligent resource in navigating these deep and messy waters.

My work is built on the belief that transitions are portals. They are uncomfortable and deeply earth shaking because our bodies are trying to figure out how to integrate what no longer was and what now must be.  These are sacred and deeply embodied experiences that require their own space, time and energy to fully metabolize.

I'm so glad you found your way here.  Learn more about my story and approach to this  work here.

I'm Grace - it's great to meet you.

welcome, dear one

courses and consultancy for therapists, social workers + coaches who supporting those who are grieving

Throughout the year, I work with people who are in the midst of or have already experienced intense life transitions and are ready to experience change. I help you  access and partner with your body to fully process these experiences and receive the transformation you need.

This happens in the form of group containers, 1:1 sessions, retreats and other events.

I also provide consulting services to mental health and social service organizations to help them increase their skill sets and capacity to effectively work with grieving clients.

Whether consciously or not, many of us have absorbed the belief that if we let ourselves be in our grief, we will crumble and not be able to get back up and function. I believe the opposite is true-that creating intentional time and space to fully be in our grief is actually the tool for both functioning while actively grieving and integrating our grief more effectively into our lives and identities.

Moving your grief creates that intentional space. Using elements of meditation, both guided and unguided movement, art-making/journaling and verbal processing, I curate a space for the grief you hold in your body to move, be moved and ultimately transform.

It is important to name that while this particular format is unique, Indigenous cultures around the world have always recognized and attended to their grief in community through movement, art-making, song and ritual. Many of these traditions have been lost or stolen by the forces of colonialism, patriarchy, racism, capitalism and xenophobia. I am indebted to these traditions and I encourage you to also lean on your own cultural traditions to support you in your grieving process.

Moving your grief is a loss oriented way of attending to grief. Painful as it is, this allows us to fully process our losses and makes it more possible to attend to other parts of life.

So - why move your grief?

- Lalibela R

"The Sacred Grief Program gave me a space in which I felt so safe, supported, open and special. it took time for my pain and grief to feel safe enough to come out... the use of movement, meditation and props were so crucial to the process. Giving the space and utility to express certain feelings in a physical way and giving them a physical presence was really powerful.I feel more aware of my deeper psyche, more connected to my grief and inner strength."

- LD

"THE BIGGEST SHIFT THAT I'VE FELT IS A DECREASE IN FEAR OF MY GRIEF. HAVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO CONNECT AND SHARE MY GRIEF WITH OTHERS WITHOUT JUDGMENT HAS INCREASED COMFORT IN SHARING THE UPS AND DOWNS OF MY GRIEF."

- NUR

"I FELT VERY SAFE IN THE SPACE THAT SHE HELD. SHE GUIDED ME WITH MOVEMENT AND THEN HELD SPACE TO WITNESS ME FIND MY OWN MOVEMENT TO RELEASE TRAPPED GRIEF IN MY BODY. I FOUND THAT IN MY GRIEVING PROCESS OF THE LOSS OF MY BROTHER, I WAS STRUGGLING TO CREATE INTENTIONAL TIME/RITUAL TO PROCESS. GRACE CREATED FOR ME A NON-JUDGMENTAL, SAFE, WARM AND CONTAINED ENVIRONMENT TO ALLOW MYSELF TO RELEASE EMOTIONAL PAIN ASSOCIATED WITH MY GRIEF."

- Morgan M

"GRACE HOLDS A SPACE OF DEEP INTEGRITY, GENTLE BRAVERY AND RADICAL HOSPITALITY. EVERYTHING IS WELCOME AND WITNESSED. GRACE'S PRESENCE AND PRACTICES GUIDE ME HOME TO MYSELF, AND GIVE ME PERMISSION TO BE WITH WHAT IS ARISING."

- RUTHANN G

"MOVING GRIEF WITH GRACE WAS WONDERFUL AND CATHARTIC, DISLODGING SOME DEEP-SEATED GRIEF THAT LEFT MY BODY OVER OUR THREE SESSIONS. HER KIND AND GENTLE APPROACH GAVE ME NEW TOOLS TO CONNECT WITH MY GRIEF DURING OUR SESSIONS AND AFTER WHILE IN PERSONAL MEDITATION AND CEREMONY. I ENTERED OUR FIRST SESSION NOT KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT AND LEFT THE THIRD SESSION FEELING INTENSELY GRATEFUL THAT I FOLLOWED MY INTUITION TO CONNECT WITH HER WORK."

- LaRA G

"I FEEL LIKE I HAVE A BETTER CONNECTION TO MY GRIEF AND KNOW HOW TO MOVE WITH IT AND EXPRESS IT BUT I ALSO LEARNED HOW TO HAVE GOOD BOUNDARIES WITH MY GRIEF AND NOT LET IT CONSUME ME. I'VE ALSO BEEN MORE IN TOUCH WITH MY BODY AND A NEED FOR CERTAIN TYPES OF MOVEMENT AND EXPRESSION."

- RACHAEL S

"I KNOW THAT THIS GRIEF JOURNEY IS NOT OVER AND HAS JUST BEGUN, BUT NOW I HAVE A CONTAINER, A PLACE TO LAND, AND THE REMINDER THAT MY BODY IS MY SACRED HOME TO COME BACK TO AGAIN AND AGAIN, LIGHTING AND RE-LIGHTING THE ETERNAL FLAME THAT IS WITHIN ME, EVEN WHEN IT GETS TOO DARK AND COLD, I KNOW THAT I CAN USE MOVEMENT TO COME BACK HOME TO MYSELF AND TO MY GRIEF. I CANNOT RECOMMEND GRACE ENOUGH."
